Troubleshooting of brakes on articulated four-wheel drive forklifts

This process is used to deal with the failure of brake loss and brake lock. This troubleshooting process is suitable for all small four-wheel drive off-road forklifts and loaders made in China.

Let’s first take a look at the braking system of the articulated four-wheel drive all-terrain forklift made in China. It uses an air pump to control the brake oil pump.

It mainly consists of brake calipers, brake pads, brake discs, brake pedal brake controller, brake master cylinder (air), brake pump (oil), brake oil pipe and other components.

Troubleshoot possible fault causes.

  1. Brake calipers.

The brake caliper piston cannot return, the seals have deteriorated, dirt is stuck, or they are rusted.

It can be repaired until the fault can be solved by replacing the seals and cleaning the piston oil.

  1. Brake pads.

If the brake pads are worn out, the caliper piston will easily get stuck.

The fault can be solved by replacing the brake pads.

  1. Brake pedal brake controller .

The air outlet valve of the foot brake valve is not closed tightly. When not braking, air enters the brake master air pump, causing brake lock and brake disc heating.

Remove the air pipe joint entering the brake pump and check whether there is air overflow in the air intake pipe. If so, the seal or foot brake valve(Brake pedal brake controller) should be replaced.

  1. Brake master air pump.

The seal inside the brake master cylinder is damaged or dust and oil contamination prevent the piston from fully returning, causing the brake caliper to still partially hold the brake disc.

Check the air booster pump, remove the powder tip, and replace the air seal of the booster pump to solve the problem.

  1. Brake oil pipe.

The brake oil pipe (hose) is internally damaged, affecting the smooth flow of brake fluid.

Replace the oil pipe to resolve the problem.
