Common brake failure cases in winter|Forklift|Loader

The picture above shows the air tank (high pressure air) of a loader forklift.It is an important part of the braking system. The engine generates compressed air and stores it in this air tank. The compressed air in the air tank drives the brake pump to complete the braking action.

Phenomenon and cause

In winter, due to the large temperature difference, condensation water will accumulate after the air containing water vapor enters the air storage tank, and the condensation water will accumulate at the bottom of the air storage tank.
On the one hand, condensation water will occupy the space of the air storage tank, causing insufficient compressed air and weakening the braking function.
On the other hand, condensation water will flood the air outlet and cause brake failure.

How to solve?

Periodically open the screw at the bottom of the air tank to drain the water.
