When selecting an air conditioning system for forklifts or loaders, there are two main types:
1️⃣ Engine-Driven AC (Compressor Driven by Engine)
- Power source: Driven directly by the machine’s engine.
- Installation: Typically integrated into the cabin.
- Advantages:
- High cooling capacity, effective even in very hot environments.
- No need for additional power source beyond engine.
- Considerations:
- Slightly higher fuel consumption due to engine load.
- AC operation depends on engine running.
2️⃣ Pure Electric AC (All-in-One, 24V DC)
- Power source: Operates on the vehicle’s 24V DC electrical system.
- Installation: Mounted on the roof of the cabin, compact design.
- Advantages:
- Can operate even when the engine is off.
- Easy to install and maintain.
- Lower impact on fuel consumption.
- Considerations:
- Cooling capacity may be slightly lower than engine-driven units.
- Requires sufficient battery capacity and electrical system support.
Selection Tips
- For long working hours in very hot environments: Engine-driven AC may provide stronger cooling.
- For short-term operation, electric forklifts, or energy-efficient preference: Pure electric AC is more suitable.
- Space & installation constraints: Roof-mounted electric AC is easier to retrofit.
