To meet the demands of increasingly extreme job site conditions, Kaystar has upgraded all models of its 4WD rough terrain forklifts with the Desert Storm Air Filter System—a high-efficiency, multi-stage intake filter engineered to perform in high-dust, sandy, and off-road environments.
From the 3.5-ton Landtiger 35Pro to the 5-ton Pioneer 50A, every Kaystar rough terrain forklift now features this advanced filtration technology, ensuring cleaner airflow, longer engine life, and reliable operation even in the harshest climates.

What Is the Desert Storm Air Filter?
The Desert Storm Air Filter system features a three-stage filtering process:
- Cyclonic Pre-Filter
Multiple air inlets generate a high-speed vortex, using centrifugal force to separate larger dust and sand particles before they reach the filter core.
- Outer Filter Element
Captures medium and fine particles to reduce engine wear and ensure cleaner airflow.
- Inner Safety Filter
Final stage to protect the engine against the smallest airborne contaminants.
Some Kaystar models include a built-in internal fan that rotates with engine operation, enhancing the cyclone separation effect in dusty environments like mines, deserts, and agricultural fields.
✅ Advantages of the Desert Storm Filter
| Feature | Desert Storm Filter | Standard Filter |
|---|
| Filtration Performance | ✅ Excellent in sand & dust | ❌ Moderate only |
| Maintenance Frequency | ✅ Extended (1–3 months) | ❌ Short (7–10 days) |
| Self-cleaning Pre-filter | ✅ Centrifugal action | ❌ Not available |
| Engine Protection | ✅ Strong | ❌ Weak in dusty areas |
| Ideal Applications | ✅ Mining, desert, farms | ❌ Light-duty sites only |
🔧 How to Maintain the Desert Storm Air Filter
Proper maintenance of the filter system ensures long service life and optimal engine performance. Here's how:
🛠️ 1. Monitor the Clogging Indicator
All Kaystar forklifts with this system are equipped with a filter blockage indicator. When it activates, maintenance is required.
🧼 2. Clean the Outer Filter Element
Use compressed air (≤ 0.7MPa) to blow dust from the inside out. Avoid using water or damaging the filter paper.
📌 Clean only when necessary; frequent cleaning shortens filter life.
🔄 3. Do Not Wash or Reuse the Inner Filter
The inner filter is a safety component and must be replaced directly if clogged or during scheduled maintenance.
💨 4. Check the Pre-Filter and Dust Discharge Port
Ensure the pre-filter housing and dust outlet are not blocked, especially in sand-heavy regions. Clean any accumulated dust manually.
🧰 5. Replace When Needed
If the filter shows visible damage, deformation, or excessive resistance even after cleaning, replace it immediately to protect the engine.
🚜 Applies to All Kaystar Forklift Models
All current Kaystar rough terrain forklifts now feature this upgrade, including:
- Landtiger 35Pro / Pioneer 35A (3.5-ton)
- Landtiger 50 / Pioneer 50A (5-ton)
- Custom forklifts with high-reach masts, bale clamps, boom arms, and more
🌍 Ready for Harsh Environments Worldwide
Whether you’re working in mining zones, desert regions, high-dust farms, or tropical construction sites, the Desert Storm Air Filter is your best line of defense against airborne threats to your engine.
